Trauma-Informed Ministry Workshop
Churches can be places of healing—or places where old wounds are unknowingly reopened. The Trauma-Informed Ministry Workshop helps clergy and lay leaders recognize trauma’s impact and respond with grounded compassion. In this five-hour, hands-on session, you’ll learn tools for safety, trust, and resilience that can transform how you lead and care for others. Come deepen your ministry and rediscover the calm center from which healing begins.
Whether trauma describes a life-changing event or a full-body experience of PTSD, it's something that we, as pastors and spiritual caregivers, need to understand. This two-day worship has been designed to specifically address the various ways trauma can show up in our lives and in our congregations. From establishing a base understanding of how trauma is defined in clinical settings, to developing healthy responses to the trauma in others, to exploring how we can teach the Bible from a trauma-aware perspective, we hope to empower more leaders in our faith communities to be an active, healing presence in our rapidly changing world.
Join LeaderWise’s Laura Beth Buchleiter & Sarah Lammert to learn more about what trauma is, how to bring a trauma-informed lens into your ministry, and to care for yourself as you engage in this work. See also our blog post on Trauma-Informed Ministry in Everyday Encounters.
