KIRKLAND REYNOLDS

REFLECTIVE SUPERVISOR

Kirkland Reynolds was appointed executive pastor at Christ United Methodist Church in Rochester, Minnesota, in 2021. Before moving to Minnesota, he served congregations in the Maryland suburbs of Washington, D.C. Kirkland brings a deep commitment to helping others grow in faith and clarify their callings, whether through congregational ministry, reflective supervision, coaching, or his involvement in church leadership beyond the local level. Originally from the East Coast, Kirkland was born in North Carolina, grew up in Florida, and later studied at Emory University and the Candler School of Theology in Georgia. He is married to Jenny Cannon, also a United Methodist pastor at Christ UMC, and together they are the parents of Molly and Nolan. Kirkland and his family enjoy making pizza, watching movies, and playing spirited card games. He also finds joy in listening to the Beatles, experimenting in the kitchen, biking, and tending to the family’s composting worms. Years ago, he was featured in The New York Times in an article about people who attend seminary without plans to become pastors - a reminder, he says, that God often leads us in surprising and unexpected directions.
