JULIE GREGG

SPIRITUAL DIRECTOR

Julie has been practicing spiritual direction since 2015, after earning her certificate in Spiritual Direction from Sioux Falls Seminary. She now supervises spiritual directors-in-training at the seminary, a role she finds both humbling and deeply life-giving.

Julie Han Gregg is an ordained elder in the Dakotas United Methodist Conference. She has served as lead pastor at United Methodist churches in South Dakota since 2018. In addition to her church appointments, Julie serves in an extension ministry as a Spiritual Director and Reflective Pastoral Supervisor, enabling her to support leaders and individuals beyond her local congregation.

One of Julie’s greatest joys is walking alongside people in ministry—helping them listen for the quiet nudges of the Holy Spirit and discern their next faithful steps. She treasures the way Spiritual Direction creates a safe and sacred space for directees to show up honestly, do their holy work, and grow into the people God has called them to be.

Julie’s academic journey reflects her wide-ranging curiosity and care for people: a BA in Mathematics and Computer Science from Emory University, an MA in Counseling  Psychology from Trinity Seminary, and an MDiv with a concentration in Family Pastoral Care from Fuller Seminary.

Born in South Korea, Julie moved to the United States in the early 1980s. She met Brian at Fuller Seminary, and the two have been partners in ministry and life ever since. Brian is a Professor at the University of Sioux Falls and a fellow United Methodist clergy. Together, they are grateful parents to two adult children, Ellie and Ian.
