HEIDI LENDER, MA

SPIRITUAL DIRECTOR

As a Congregational Care and Vocational Discernment Counselor, Spiritual Director, Higher Education Program Director, Assistant Professor, Enneagram and Spiritual Practices Retreat Facilitator, Heidi has 20 years of experience walking alongside those navigating life’s transitions.

Heidi meets people where they are on their spiritual journey and is passionate about helping them discover their true selves, identify their gifts, and listen for the ways they are being called to serve the world.

Heidi holds a Master of Arts from Wartburg Seminary in Iowa, and a Master of Arts in Human Development with specializations in Career Counseling and Spirituality from Saint Mary’s University of MN.  She is also certified as a Spiritual Director through Christos Center for Spiritual Formation and is trained in the Enneagram in the Narrative Tradition.

Heidi is known as an empathetic and compassionate listener who holds the space for the Spirit to do the work.  She has been honored to walk alongside faith leaders, seminary students, and people in the helping fields throughout her career at St. Andrews Lutheran Church in Mahtomedi, MN (ELCA), Augsburg University, and Saint Mary’s University of MN, and has great compassion for those serving others.  She believes that we are not meant to walk life’s journey alone and it is in individual and group spiritual direction that we have an opportunity for greater self-awareness, healing, discernment, and spiritual growth.

In addition to her work, Heidi loves spending time with her husband, daughter, golden retriever Bailey, family, and friends.  She enjoys being in nature, experiencing the wonder of the ocean, trips to the North Shore of Lake Superior, and sunrises on the beach.
